In one go\, he can take the crowd from disco to garage to dub\, even to trance and experimental breakbeat. For his current and future projects\, Que Sakamoto is shifting his focus towards his Japanese roots. His passion is Japanese music from the 70’s to 90’s\, and playing this music to a new generation\, especially in Japan\, to help connect people to their roots. This new direction reflects Que Sakamoto’s deep appreciation for his cultural heritage and his desire to showcase the rich musical traditions of Japan to a global audience. Que Sakamoto’s most famous track is “Minimüzikhol”\, a collaboration with NT\, which was released in 2019 and features a mashup of Japanese and Turkish electronic music. The track was widely played in clubs and radio shows around the world and helped to establish Que Sakamoto as a rising talent in the dance music scene. He is also a prolific radio DJ\, having published mixes through Red Light Radio\, The Lot Radio\, Beats In Space\, Rinse FM\, and NTS Radio\, as well as hosting his own show on Tibilisi’s Mutant Radio\, 思考と発想　“Thoughts and Ideas”. In addition to his solo work\, Que Sakamoto has collaborated with other artists and DJs\, including John Talabot\, Gaye Su Akyol and Hoodoo Fushimi. In the few years since he started DJ’ing\, Colin was recruited into becoming a resident curator for Secret Service LBC\, a house and techno performance based collective based in the diverse city of Long Beach California where since his debut\, their following has multiplied tenfold\, and increases to do so today. Later on\, when the tokyo’s club scene getting declined he moved to trance music and rave parties and he had his first appearance at PANORAMA BAR in Berlin as part of an IBADAN RECORDS label night where he performed a 4 hour set. Enamored first by traditional Iranian music and classic jazz and rock\, Ardalan’s taste began to transform with his childhood years spent moving back and forth from Iran and California. With each intercontinental return\, Ardalan grew his treasure trove of mixtapes filled with rare musical gems like gangsta rap\, Italo disco\, and movie and video game soundtracks–the best of the West. Naturally\, when he permanently returned to California in 2006\, his distinct taste in music drewhim towards long-lasting friendships\, which were born through exchanges of mixtape gold and out seeking underground excursions. Ardalan became a regular of the underground scene in the Bay Area\, absorbing the sounds of house and techno from the likes of Solar and Galen at the legendary Sunset Sound System parties\, and it wasn’t long before he was hooked. Full of his signature charm\, spark of energy\, and an insatiable curiosity for left-of-center music\, soon he found his way to a fateful BBQ in San Francisco\, a legendary party that is largely known as the origin story lore of the Dirtybird crew. Immediately\, the crew took to young Ardy like family. Then came “Mr. Spock.” Call it beginner’s luck\, or more likely\, a sign of what was to come–in 2010\, Ardalan shared one of his earliest studio explorations with Justin Martin\, which became the foundation for the breakout hit. “Mr. Spock\,” in its bizarre and booty-shaking glory\, has been accredited as one of the “tracks that made Dirtybird famous\,” helping to define the label’s now darling reputation as a trusted source of ridiculous\, off-the-wall dance floor bangers. The man prides himself on his ability to connect with his audience – through a wicked combination of his exuberant personality and his exquisite ability to know what fills and keeps a dance floor pumpin’. His rise to dance music infamy dates back to his humble beginnings as the leading force behind the Baltimore / Washington DC electronic music scene. Alongside his partner\, and fellow DJ\, Scott Henry\, Feelgood launched Fever\, which for nearly a decade became one of the most sought after events for touring DJs from around the world. It was the days after starting Fever that Feelgood enhanced his reputation amongst those the international dance community. He is a mainstay in the Top Charts on BeatPort and Traxsource as well as other other worldwide digital sites.
